Netbook Reflection!!!
This year I have really enjoyed having a netbook to work on because it was a good experience learning more about how to work on a computer. Another thing I liked about my netbook is that it was much easier for me to write in a google doc rather than to look for a pencil and paper. I have much more information that is quickly available for me. Overall, it has been really working out well for me.
As much as I have loved having a netbook, there are some things that I haven’t liked. When the Internet was playing up it was really frustrating. When I tried to get on to my google docs, it would often say connection has timed out. Other than that, my netbook has worked fine.
One of the significant differences with using a netbook has been with writing. I chose writing because I am improving more in this subject area and it’s all because of how easy a netbook makes it to edit my writing. When I use paper and pencil, it takes longer because I often can’t find a pencil, and then once I have written, it takes a long time to edit it properly.
The greatest challenge for me is when I’m doing my work. There are so many things on my netbook that I can get into, that it is often difficult to stay focused on my assigned task. No matter what, I will continue to work to improve this.
I think it would be very boring to go back to what we had before netbooks because everything is so much easier and more interesting now. If it were to fail, I would be sad because no netbooks would also mean waiting, waiting and more waiting to use a computer to create and present my work. Hopefully, I will always be able to use my netbook or a similar device at school.
