Hip Hip, HOORAY!

Monday 22 July 2013. That date specificity holds a special day and that day is my auntie Millie's birthday. It was very special because she was turning 21 and you only turn 21 once. " We are going to make her a big feast for her birthday!" my mum said as she had just come back from Pak'nsave. My mum pull savoury's, sausages, crab meat, chicken, vermicelli and pork out of the Pak'nsave bags. We sorted out the food and started to cook.

The kids were cleaning and the adults were cooking and everyone was doing something. It was meant to be a surprise but somehow, she figured out. Even though she knew, we still did it for her. Cooking and even more cooking, cleaning and even more cleaning, it was a very busy day. When we finally finished everything thing, we set up the tables and then she arrived with her friend, Shelly.

As she walked through the door, we all sang happy birthday to her and she smile. Then we all gave her a big hug and we started to eat. The food was going as fast as a cat running away from a dog and when it was finish, we got to the desert. For desert we had ice cream and a chocolate log. It was so delicious and I wanted more but there wasn't any more.

It was a very big and busy day so when the day ended, everyone went to sleep and had a good night rest. When it's your birthday, I wish you the biggest happy birthday anyone could ever give and hope you enjoy your birthday. Hip hip, HOORAY!

Bronwyn Brown

Bronwyn Brown. You may not have heard of her before but she studied food technology at Massey University. She came to our school to talk to us about sports and our daily life nutrition. The reason why is because this term we are studying about healthy food and being fit for life! Her job at Tip Top was all about tasting and creating new flavoured ice cream.

Now she works for Horleys (sport nutrition products). Her very first job was at Tip Top ice cream and she was involved in the development and launch of many ice cream products. She also worked for Fonterra which makes dairy products. This term, she came to our school and talked to us about her job at Horleys and the kind of food she works with. We really appreciated her coming to our school and we just wanted to say and very big ‘Thank You!’

Maths

At school, my favorite subject is Maths. I love to do maths because it involves number and for some reason I like working with numbers. My maths goal for next term is to learn alot more about decimals and fraction. Also with percentages so I know what to do when it comes to a question that involves these three things.

Should Pt England Be A Single Gender School?

Honestly, I think that Pt England school should be a only girls school. The reason why is because girls will be more focused on their work and they will be more confident to put their hand up and give an idea without anyone laughing. But the only bad thing about it is when girls cause dramas between each other and many fight as well.

If it was a girls school, the girls will be able to focus on their work and and support each other. There are more distractions in a co-ed school then a single school. It will be easier for girls to raise their hand and say what their thinking.

The only reason why it will be a bad school for girls is because the will be alot of dramas and gossip. People not minding their own business and people trying to get but into other people business. People causing fights for know reason and wanting to fight for know reason.

Prospective Student

My friend Brooklyn and I have put this together for you to read. Hope you enjoy.

Dangling precariously off the cliff the boy wonders to himself, will I make it?, or has my time come to an end? But with all his strength that he has left he pulls himself up onto the ledge. A slight of relief came across his mind but he also felt a feeling of anxiousness. Stopping to take a breath, in his sights he sees the karate dojo standing before him. His search had finally come to an end.

As he was walking up the steps, we could see the door. “Knock, knock!” The boy knocked twice. “SQUEAK!” The door slowly started to open and behind the door was the sensei. The boy saw the sensei and bowed not knowing what to do next. The sensei had pointed to his right and shut the door behind him.
The boy was very disappointed so he started to meditate to show the sensei that he was good enough to get into the school. After meditating for a day and a night, he finally knocks on the door again. The sensei opens the door and has the exact same reaction. Pointing to the side the boy gets rejected again.
The boy was very disappointed so he turned around and left the school. As he was walking, he looked down at the ground and his reactions start to change as he get more confident. He was so confident that he kicked the door open and wanted to fight the sensei.

As he was in his fighting stance, the sensei had pointed to the side on more time and he had finally looked to where he was pointing and saw a sign. “Please use side entrance”Looking very embarrassed, he used the side entrance and shut the door behind him.

Fractured Fairytale

Last week, we had to write a fairytale that we had made up ourselves. I had partnered up with 2 of my buddies which was Brooklyn and Ashleigh. Hope you enjoy

“Yeah! Wolf is here now. Lets get this party started” said one of the little pigs. They had invited their friends over to celebrate wolfs 21st birthday. Everybody was dancing and enjoying themselves except for one pig .He was sitting in the corner alone. His eyes started to drop and he fell asleep. He had a dream about the wolf being best friends with the pigs and that he would be all left alone. He quickly woke up and realised that no one was there. They had left him. A flicker of anger came across his eyes and at that moment he realized that he would be one of the pigs brothers but the wolfs worst enemy.

After the party, Little Red Riding Hood’s dad told her to take a basket to her grandmother. The basket was full of goodies but there was someone behind the tree who really wanted to have it, it was the  wolf. He had just finished coming from the three little pigs party and now he wanted Little Red. He followed her all the way to the middle of the forest until he saw the two little pigs and knew that there was something wrong.

After a 30 minute walk the evil pig had seen a little cottage and remembered that it was grandmas house. The pig knocked on the door loudly and when grandma answered the door. The pig ate her. He puts on grandma's clothes and jumped into her bed. Red Riding Hood opens the door and saw grandma on the bed. “Hey, grandma why are you so fat?” I ate alot when I was on the trip” replied Grandma. “Why is your nose so big?” “I had plastic surgery” said Grandma. “Why are you so pink?” “Just Give Me The Basket!” The Evil Pig Shouted “Ok here it is grandma” said Little Red Riding Hood.

Little Red knew something was wrong, “Knock Knock!” Someone was knocking on the door. Little Red opened the door and it was their friend, the wolf. “ Don’t give her the basket!!” he said, but it was too late. In the basket was Cinderella's glass slipper. All along the wolf wanted Red Riding Hood because she had mistaken his basket with  hers. .......... TO BE CONTINUED
