Tamaki Tech

Every Tuesday we have been walking down to Tamaki College and having our Technology down there. The most likeable class that I have had is Cooking with Mrs Heka and the most unlikeable class is Electronic with Mr Malhotra. The second favorite class is hard materials. The reason why I hated Electronic was because Mr Malhotra talks way too much, at cooking, we obviously got to cook.

In Electronics, we learnt how to use a soldering iron. We even got to make stuff that involved LED lights, batteries and burning stuff with the soldering wire. The reason why it was so boring was because Mr Malhotra would talk way too much and he would take up alot of our time so thats why some of us didn’t finish our projects.

In Hard Materials, I had a lot of fun making a housing joint and turning it into a tow truck. I really like the teacher who takes it and his name is Mr Grundy (he is really honest when it comes to honesty). I liked that class because it was very fun learning a lot of thing about making thing with wood.

Now I have cooking and the teacher who takes that is Mrs Heka and she is AWESOME!!!. Next term she will be going to fiji and then a new teacher will be taking us. It’s really sad because I like watching her cook and she has a great humour. I feel sad and happy at the same time.

End of the term reflection

Experiencing and learning about all kinds of different things this term was awesome! Learning different things about reading, writing and maths was very educational and fun. I would have always fought to the finish if I hadn’t finished my individual project.

Our class won the MAGIC (Music and Art Glen Innes Centre) competition. Then we had to go to these meetings to talk about the music and art centre and how we should fix it up. Then we had a look at all of the charts and we even got to write down our own ideas to help them fix up the place.

I have learnt a lot of new and exciting things just from this term! My teacher Mrs Lagitupu has been helping me to achieve all of my goals. One of my goals were to skip 100 or more times without stopping. I achieve it because I worked very hard and I practised every week or at least once a week.

This term I have had a lot of fun and I hope that next term I will have an even better term! I even made new friend. If you finished school and you didn’t want it to, how would you feel?

Olympics day!!

It was a scorching hot thursday morning when I could hear someone calling me. “ Hey Hueloata, can I have some help here please?” Miss Va'afusuaga calls out to me. She was setting up an amazing whole day olympics day on our school fields. There was sports gear everywhere so she asked if we could help her put them into their right places.

My socks were soaking wet when I had finished doing that job
for Miss Va’afusuaga. “ Ring!!” the bell goes. Then everybody came to sit down on the court in our line and countries. The first thing that Miss Va’afusuaga said were all of the activities that we had to go to.

The team that I was in was Kenya. My buddie was Rita and our team leader was Miracle. The first activity that ‘Team Kenya’ did was foursquare in the street. The teacher who took that activity was Mrs Lagitupu! Sadly, team kenya lost to team Uganda but in our heart we won that game.

“bounce, bounce, bounce.” I could hear the basketballs bounce. The I thought in my head that we were going to play basketball. I was right!! I was on the second round and we won fair and square, but it was really hard to be up against Russia.

I had a really cool day and I really hope that we can do it again. I felt happy and tired at the same time.

"GO PT ENGLAND, GO!!!"

As the scorching hot sun was shining brightly in our eyes, the rugby girls were getting ready to play against Koru school. It was on a very hot Friday afternoon when we went to go and watch the girl play rugby on our school field. The Koru girls came from South Island. Our girl looked very determined to win and as for Koru, well they looked determined as well.

When Mr Jacobson and his helper were setting up the field, the girls were inside getting ready for this big game. Like Mr Jacobson always says, “ Right time, right place and right attitude!!” Then out came our rugby girls. As the girls walked out proudly then out came Koru school and they had determined looks on their faces. You could see in their eyes that they really wanted to win.

“ Go Pt England, you can do it!!” screamed the line of spectators. The girls were lining up in their positions ready to make tremendous tried and big hits and tackles. As people like Jaylee and Athena ran up to tackle the opposition, then Pesi ran up and scored the very first try of the game and then you could see that Koru was getting very fierce.

You could feel that everybody was very excited that we got the first try but there
was more to go. Koru got a try then we did then they did then we did and it just kept going back and forward. But then at the very end it was a tie and the person who got the golden try. But unfortunately the school who got the golden try was Koru. It was very upsetting but it was a really good game for the girls.

The score was 15-16. It was a very close game and the girls worked very hard to get to where they are right now! I felt bad for the girls but I felt really happy for Koru school. “ It alright girls, next time you will win” the supports say to them and then we went back to class packed up and went home.

What if ....... I Could Go Back In Time

What if I could go back in time? If I was able to go back in time then I would save a lot of people from things like Tsunami, earthquakes and aftershocks, flooding and other disaterest things. I would tell all of the people that there is going to be disaster and try to save their lives.

Traveling back in time would be very cool because if there is going to be any burglaries or bank robberies anywhere then I could tell the police. Then the police would go to that place and try to stop the burglaries and bank robberies. It would be as hard as trying to cut a tree down. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the “present.”

I would save many people and explore the olden days when my mum and dad were only 16. Ok that is not a sight to be seeing. Anyways it would be very cool to go back in the future and see a lot of things that I never have seen before like, the first car that was ever invented. It would be so amazing.

What if ........ I Was A Superhero

What if I was a Superhero? If I was a superhero, I would have powers like flying, water and fire, invisibility  and other cool things. I would fly over the city and if anyone needed any help than I would help them. “ Help, Help!” someone would calls and I would be there to rescue that person.  I would like to be called ‘Mysterious’.

I would use the element water to put out all of the fires in the city. I would use the element fire to let all of the bad people know not to come anywhere near me. Last but not least, I would use the invisibility to get through all of the bad thing that are happening! I would be as invisible as the wind.

If I was to be called a superhero, then I would do anything and help anyone if they ever needed me. I would stop all of the burglaries and all of the bank robberies. I would be as happy as a person who just won the lottery. It would be an honor to be called a superhero.

What if . . . . I WAS A BILLIONAIRE?

What if I was a billionaire? I would take some money for the Charities and the cancer society. I would help other people with sickness diseases and help the poor. I would buy my family some food. I would take my family for a trip overseas for a week. I would visit my other family in the Cook Island and give them some money as well.

I would buy me a two story mansion with a pool the size of a blue whale and a nice car. I would have 6 bedrooms, 7 toilets, 4 showers and baths, a Huge kitchen and a big family room. I would buy two 50 inch Panasonic TV, but I would also give some money to the school so everybody will get a netbook and maybe a Ipad touch each. I will have my own water slide and a diving board.

I would travel around the world and learn different languages like my own language. I would travel to hollywood and meet some of the most famous people like Beyonce and One Direction ( Boy Band ). Then I would own a sports hall and in it you can play basketball, volleyball, soccer and netball. I would buy a library to have my own piece and quite. If there was anything in the world that I love better than money, it is my own family.

Mini Olympics

“Hueloata, do you have a number and team?” Mrs Lagitupu said. I said “what is it for?” With a surprised look on my face, she told me that we were doing a mini Olympics. “ But its raining!” I was complaining to Mrs Lagitupu. “ I know, but its going to be indoors.” The years 5-8 were competing in the mini-olympics. When we arrived in the hall, I could see people lining up in their teams. The team that I was in was Tainui 1.

The first activity that we did was Relays with Mr Burt. The team that we were against was Takitimu. I felt really nervous. The relays were to get the tennis ball in the bucket three times then  run with a hula hoop on your hand while it’s spinning. You also had to hold the tennis ball in the middle of your legs and get it in the bucket. Then we rotated to another activity.

That was Singstar with Mr Jacobson. The team that we were against for that activity was Te Arawa 2. The first people to sing was Ashin and Andrew. They were singing I wanna dance with somebody by Whitney Houston. It was so funny watching them sing. “ I wanna dance with somebody” They sang. But unfortunately Ashin didn’t win, Andrew did. Then Awhina sang against Toko and the same happened with him. Awhina won!

I didn’t get to have my battle against my friend Tui but, in the Obstacle course I got to verse her and the person who took it was Miss Va'afusuaga. The obstacle course went like this. First we had to dribble the soccer ball then we had to go over the beam with the it. After that we went over then under the stage blocks. Last but not least, we had to kick the ball into the goal. I was one of the fastest people there.

The very last activity was Cyber coach with Mr Slade. Cyber coach is like jump jam but the moves don’t go fast, they go slow. We learnt a very fun dance. But later on in the day it got very boring and then I sat down. I was very exhausted on that day and I would love to have another mini-olympics again someday.
